The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp is looking to implement measures to improve its market growth, deliver a more convenient gaming experience to players, and encourage healthy competition. Also, part of its plan is to modernize slot machine operations.
PAGCOR CEO and Chairman Alejandro Tengco announced the plan to launch the agency’s online gaming operations. He hopes to launch the online casino by the first quarter of next year. It will compete against the best online casinos in Korea.
Tengco explained that the online casino will use virtual reality technology to simulate the atmosphere of a physical casino. Thus, it offers live dealer casino games with an immersive gaming experience.
Modernize Slot Machine Operations
In addition to introducing the new gaming product, Tengco emphasized the need to update PAGCOR’s slot machine operations to maintain growing momentum.
Improvements to PAGCOR’s casino management system are included in the plan’s modernization and the expansion of the state-run gaming and regulation firm’s IT programs and systems.
Meanwhile, PAGCOR’s head boasted about the state-run gambling and regulating agency’s first-half 2023 financial results.

Tengco continued by saying the internet casino will lead to more profits, a broader client base, new markets, lower operating costs, and more involved players. PAGCOR, meantime, has started talks with other manufacturers about updating its slot machines.
PAGCOR’s casino management system will be fine-tuned by creating IT programs and procedures as part of the modernization strategy.
The head of PAGCOR said the new technology would improve financial management, speed compliance procedures, maintain security, and detect fraud in real-time. The industry had a 48.7 percent increase in sales in the first half of 2023, with total earnings of P136.4 billion, up from P91.7 billion.
